The National Sexual Assault, Domestic and Family Violence Counselling Service, 1800RESPECT is expanding in July so we are currently recruiting skilled and qualified people to join our team as Specialist Counsellors, Team Leaders, Training and Quality Specialists, Professional supervisors, and more.

We are excited to be able to offer a range of full-time and part-time roles on permanent contracts across a 24/7 roster, as well as casual Specialist Counsellor work.

Specialist Counsellor

  • A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years specialist counselling experience including support for people impacted by DFV and SA (telephone counselling advantageous)
  • Eligible for professional membership of any of the following governing bodies – ACA, PACFA, AASW or AHPRA
  • Solid IT skills to work across phone and on-line chat platforms

Training Specialist

  • A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or relevant field
  • Extensive experience in the DFV and/or other sectors
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent would be well regarded or a minimum of professional development in the training space and 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Eligible for professional membership of any of the following governing bodies – ACA, PACFA, AASW or AHPRA
  • Ability to travel interstate as required to deliver training

Quality Specialist

  • A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or relevant field
  • Extensive experience in the DFV and/or similar sectors
  • Eligible for professional membership of any of the following governing bodies – ACA, PACFA, AASW or AHPRA
  • Quality related qualifications would be well regarded

Team Leader

  • A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or relevant field
  • 4+ years minimum trauma specialist counselling experience (preferably telephone counselling) or full-time equivalent experience in specialised sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling
  • Experience in leading, supervising and/or coaching a team in a related field
  • Hold Professional membership of any of the following governing bodies – ACA, PACFA, AASW or AHPRA

Professional Supervisor

  • A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or relevant field
  • Extensive experience in the DFV and/or similar sectors
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply best practice models for clinical supervision
  • Training in conducting supervision within DFV workforce and supervision qualifications would be well-regarded

Additional essential requirements for all roles

  • Up to date with COVID-19 Vaccinations
