Express your interest in joining DVConnect’s expanding 1800RESPECT team

DVConnect is inviting qualified people from across Australia to express their interest in joining the team of specialists supporting 1800RESPECT.

DVConnect provides specialist support for the National Sexual Assault, Domestic and Family Violence Counselling Service which runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

After a successful tender process, the DVConnect and Telstra Health teams are writing the next chapter together, with both organisations (each with complementary areas of focus) recruiting additional people.

Beck O’Connor, CEO of DVConnect says people located anywhere in Australia can express an interest in being part of the expanded service, which will be more accessible to more people across Australia.

“We are now accepting expressions of interest from people who are skilled in providing trauma-informed response to people experiencing domestic and family violence, or sexual abuse, and who also share our vision of safety for all,” she said.

“1800RESPECT is expanding in July and in the coming months, we will be recruiting the right people to join our team as specialist counsellors, team leaders, training and quality coordinators, professional supervisors, and more.”

“We are excited to be able to offer a range of full-time and part-time roles on permanent contracts across a 24/7 roster, as well as casual specialist counsellor work.”

“We are proud of the healthy workplace culture and conditions we have created for our people as an employer. We work in a challenging industry, so the way we support each other and our deeply ingrained behaviour of deep listening are crucial to how we will continue to support the community through 1800RESPECT for the next 5 years.”

“We recognise the immense responsibility that comes with delivering 1800RESPECT and are committed to its operation in a manner that contributes to eliminating domestic, family and sexual violence and workplace sexual harassment in all settings,” Beck said.

DVConnect offers a great range of employee benefits including professional supervision, an Employee Assistance Program, flexible work arrangements, additional leave provisions including access to long service leave after 5 years, Paid Parental Leave, Paid Domestic and Family Violence Leave, ongoing professional development and career pathways, competitive salary packaging benefits, access to discount programs, regular well-being initiatives and free flu shots. A comprehensive induction and training program commencing from May will be provided to every new person employed.
