THE 4 HOUR HERO WOD MARATHON
On Saturday August 26th members of Gym Cartel and CrossFit Da Fonz will be undertaking a mammoth 4 hour Hero WOD Challenge.
Individuals will participate in a 4 hour window to complete as many Hero workouts they can out of a possible 9 workouts. Hero WODs are unique CrossFit workouts that were designed and scripted to honour the lives of fallen servicemen. Participating in a Hero WOD is a great honour and the vigorous nature of their design makes each workout a CHALLENGE IN ITSELF. Needless to say, completing the nine Hero WODs in the four hours provided will be a massive feet and should not be taken lightly.
Participants will require sponsorship that will incentivise the completion of each workout within the 4 hour block. The sponsorship will motivate participants towards completion of as many WODs as possible as well as the opportunity to be part of a great cause.
Participating will provide athletes with much more than a challenge, The 4 Hour Hero WOD Marathon operates as a fundraiser for RSPCA Qld Inc. Specifically their Pets in Crisis program.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- There are a total of 9 WODs to be completed in a 4 hour cap.
- Sponsorship is progressive. That means athlete sponsors will pay the athletes for workouts finished.
WOD 1 – $2
WOD 2 – $4
WOD 3 – $6
…WOD 9 – $18
(total commitment = $90)
*Sponsors can choose to sponsor to a cap by completing the sponsorship form provided by your athlete.
- Based on data collected from beyondthewhiteboard.com, there is a total of 150min of workout time (data gathered from median finish times). We can expect that workout finish times will take longer as the intensity will be lower and we would anticipate 10-15min break between workouts.
