Hold a Facebook Fundraiser instead of receiving Christmas Gifts this year

Did you know you can help us help Queenslanders escape violence by holding a Facebook fundraiser?

What is a Facebook Fundraiser?

A Facebook fundraiser helps you raise funds for charities such as DVConnect. Instead of a Christmas gifts this year, you could ask your family and friends to donate to your Facebook Fundraiser. You can select us ‘DVConnect Limited’ as your charity, then all funds you raise help us to send emergency taxi’s to a families home to transport them to an emergency motel to keep them safe until they can get into a shelter.

Steps to creating a Facebook Fundraiser

  1. Click Raise Money.
  2. Select ‘DVConnect Limited’ as your not for profit charity.
  3. Select a charitable organization, choose a cover photo and fill in the fundraiser details.
  4. Click Create.
  5. Email / message your family/friends inviting them to consider donating to your fundraising page in lieu of gifts.

How your fundraising will help

Thank you for considering us to raise funds for. Your funds will directly help us:

  • Send emergency taxi’s to families who need to urgently leave a violent home
  • Provide emergency motel rooms to women and children who urgently need somewhere to stay before a shelter/refuge is found for them.

Thank you for your help, for everything you have done for me over the last few days. Your services are more than impressive and impeccable for anyone who may be in danger or in need of help of any kind. I may not be here today without your protection and the services you provided me. It is amazing to know there are people out there that give their absolute best to keep others safe, because they can and they care. Before making the call to you I felt too ashamed and far too proud to ask anyone for help. But now I feel strong knowing that I had the courage to put my hand up and ask for help. It saved my life!

Sarah, Gold Coast

Your donation will help us...

  • Provide more emergency transport and accommodation to those escaping violence.
  • Provide more safety planning, crisis counselling & information to those escaping violence.
  • Educate Queenslanders on how to help family/friends/colleagues experiencing violence.
